Downgrading from VIP

Currently I'm on the VIP package and have been for well over a year, although I've been a customer for almost 8 years.

Yesterday when I got home from work, I found a generic letter from Virgin telling me all the wonderful things I could get from them. I've wanted to upgrade to 50mb broadband for ages now, but my address isn't in their postcode checker, and whenever I called them they were adamant I could only get national services (despite already being on a VIP package). I checked the postcode checker today, and even though my address still doesn't come up, I did see that all the addresses that previously stated national services only all now say fibre optic services. Stands to reason I should be able to upgrade to 50mb BB now.

Now, I'm already paying almost £90 for my VIP services, and while I'm certain I'm receiving my moneysworth in services, I'm not actually using them all.

I use the 20mb broadband (but with 3 games consoles, a PC and a laptop with any 2 of them in use at any one time, I could use the advantages 50mb would bring).

I use Sky Movies, the XL TV, and the V+, but I'm forced to have Sky Sports which I have absolutely no interest in, and I have a 2nd V box which is currently in the loft because in my tiny flat there's only 1 TV. The engineer said he could take it away with him when he upgraded me to VIP, but it'd cancel the VIP and I'd end up paying more. Seeing how it was cheaper to just keep the box hanging around, that's what I did.

I also get the XL phone... and considering that my GF phones her parents in the evening for about 30mins, that's about the only outgoing use we get so XL is overkill.

How painful would it be to downgrade from my VIP package, but keep the V+, XLTV and Sky Movies. And instead of the other stuff, swap for XXLBB and M phone?

The website doesn't really help too much, as I'm sure that there'll be extra or ommited charges for installation/activation (or in the case of stuff like the V+, the lack thereof).

It'd just be nice to save some pennies, and only pay for the services I use/intend to use.

Re: Downgrading from VIP

Phone 'M', TV 'XL', BB 'XXL', V+ £49.50
Sky Movies £19.50
Phone Line £11

Total £80 per month. Also £20 installation of XXL and maybe £75 V+ installation? So it looks like you won't save much!
