50mb flucuations is it modem power levels??

Hi all,

I had 50mb installed over the weekend and have been fairly happy as i can get the full 50mb speed!

However i rarely get it for more than half an hour before it drops right down to say 7mb and then the bandwidth is so bad it takes over 10 seconds just to open a google search page!

I have checked all possible problems and im now guessing its the modem power levels which are always between 8-9 my question is would this be the likely cause??

I was promised a call back and that the engineer who installed would come back to me but what a surprise ive heard nothing. I dont blame the engineer he probably hasnt even been informed its no doubt a lack of communication from head office as he did turn up at my place expecting to do a v+ install and not a 50mb upgrade :-)

Thanks
