How to close ports on a router.....

Hello folks,

I have a D-Link 655 wireless router with the latest firmware installed. I recently done a port scan of my router. The results are:

PORT STATE SERVICE
80/tcp open http
4444/tcp open krb524
8099/tcp open unknown
20005/tcp open btx

Does anyone know how to close ports on a D-Link 655?

Thanks,
Boaby

Disable uPnP and remove all port forwarding/application rules from the router configuration. But think first about anything you might break if you do this.

I guess you have no option with port 80 unless there's another way of managing the router other than it's web interface.

I have done a recent port scan of my router. The results are:

Your system has achieved a perfect "TruStealth" rating. Not a single packet — solicited or otherwise — was received from your system as a result of our security probing tests. Your system ignored and refused to reply to repeated Pings (ICMP Echo Requests). From the standpoint of the passing probes of any hacker, this machine does not exist on the Internet. Some questionable personal security systems expose their users by attempting to "counter-probe the prober", thus revealing themselves. But your system wisely remained silent in every way. Very nice.

Extracted from Steve Gibson ShieldUps! website.

I think that means good?

Ta,
