Problems with services. Can i cancel my virgin media contract without charge
Hi all,
Basically, i have been experiencing severe issues with my broadband and television services. For about the last 5 weeks, i have been constantly losing broadband signal and most of my channels have been freezing and cutting off. I have had 3 visits from different technicians with the first 2 assuring me that they had sorted the problem. The issue had been escalated to the network team and i had had a letter from them last week telling me that they had identified the problem and sorted it. The problems have been just as bad as ever. 3rd technician came today and told me that they think that there is a batch of faulty fibre optics in the area and because they are so expensive to replace that it wont get done. I was wondering if anyone knew if this then means i am entitled to end my contract without charge as they are not supplying the services i agreed to?

VM don't agree to provide a fault free service, but on the other hand they must provide a service. If the faults arent getting fixed, and are creating significant disruption such that a reasonable customer would determine the service to be continually unreliable then VM would be considered in breach of contract and you could walk away from it. Of course explaining that to customer services, and gettinng their agreement on it would be another matter.

Thanks for the replies!
Final straw earlier this afternoon when i was told that the network team had been out to my property and i hadnt let them in!! (which is a complete lie) I was disconnected free of charge. Delighted to be rid of all these problems.
