Re: box stuck on pace

If the box is legit, you can contact Virgin who will happily fix or replace it. If it's not legit, we do not allow discussion here..

Re: box stuck on pace

What do you mean by stuck on pace?

If you mean you still have one of the older Pace boxes (dark gray in colour) .. then I wouldn't worry about it! In fact a tech a few months ago down here in the SE told me that they were better than the new Samsung boxes.

Further to that he said that he and other local techs were told not to give customers the newer Samsungs because of reliability problems!

Whether that was true or not I don't know.

Well, thats exactly what he said Ben! .. I kid you not .. this was a few months ago now.

He was sorting out an un-related problem and I asked him about the chances of getting a shiny new Samsung to replace my old Pace ..

I wondered about it at the time I must say!!

Re: box stuck on pace

he probably couldnt be bothered to change it for you!! but it has been said that the refurbed boxes are proving more reliable than the samsungs, but considering a batch of over 50,000 sammys had faulty power units its not suprising is it?
personally i wouldnt have a pace box as they are SOOO SLOW,i'll take my chances with the sammy thanks
if you did have a visit for a fault and required a box swap the tech can only swap it for the make of box he has on his van which will be predominantly sammys.
if its a legit box stuck on pace it will require a swap-out.

When the old Pace STBs die they usually hang at bootup with "PACE" on the display.
