BT no more 6p an hour calls

Anyone using BT Together option 1 will find there are no more 6p an hour phone calls, its now 1.47p per minute.

That is an attempt to force people to move on to Option 2 and Option 3, and with option 2 you will experience a long term contract.

Wonder if they will put up the call connection fees to 8p???

Isn't that less than 2p?

Yes, 2p a minute. Works out about £1 an hour.

Re: BT no more 6p an hour calls

Sorry was meant to post in the other category. But hey! still useful for comparisons between the two providers.

Its only a matter of time before BT raise it to 4p per minute.

Re: BT no more 6p an hour calls

Are you still using landlines? And pay rip-off tariffs for line rental and calls? Haven't you heard about VoIP?

Re: BT no more 6p an hour calls

Yeah but the disadvantages are:

No service during powercut/When credit runs out of your prepayment electricity meter.
You have to give too many location details when placing a 999 call.
Easy to hack into.
0871 numbers are more expensive to call.
Virgin TV package increases when you dont subscribe to Virgin Phone.
Sky TV installation charge is more expensive if you take TV only.
Poor Sound quality
No service if there is internet downtime.

Everytime we have a powercut the BT and Spectrum Interactive payphones are still working and my Virgin phone line still works.

There are also sim only mobile phone deals which offer great value too such as Orange. They offer something like 500 minutes to call any network at anytime,Unlimited Texts,Free internet on your mobile and unlimited calls to landlines for £25 per month.

Hutchison 3G also offer unlimited calls to landlines with many price plans.
