Battlestar to be rebooted.. Again..
If rumours are to be believed, Universal has started discussions with Glen A. Larson (the original show's creator and producer) about a big screen return for the programme.
However, this movie (assuming it happens) will not be linked to the current series, but will be based on the 1978 original series.

I don't like this idea. Although, many of the original shows fans may love this idea as a lot of them have a dislike for the current series.

Meh. Not fussed.
IMO, the "re-imagined" BSG is far, far superior to the original.

I'll happily watch either.
The only version I wasnt too keen on was "Galactica 80"

I would only watch one based on the new series..It would have to be pretty awesome to follow on from that.

Re: Battlestar to be rebooted.. Again..
I'm.... intrigued, and would hold any opinion on this till after.
If they do it I'll definitely watch. Though they will carry on with old themes it sounds like it will be with modern tech....
P.S. c'mon anyone really think the new star wars are better than the old??? old isn't always bad but I like the milkybar kid comment, excellent..... "that" was a bit odd.

New Star Wars better than old? Nope.
New BSG better than old? Oh yes...

Neither do I! especially if they use the same genre as the original, I.e brat dominated scripts full of spotty little oiks going "WOW, GEE WHIZ, etc along with stupid robot dogs called muffie - not forgetting the really pathetic attempts at "morals" to each story - YAWN, YAWN, YAWN, tedium tedii!
Personally I really like the later version, as it's gritty, down to earth, technically competent, realistic and up front with it's portrayal of real characters - warts and all - so what if there's some risqué content - that's life get over it!
It's a shame that the later series is in it's last season - but to be realistic, there has to be and end to any series, otherwise you'd eventually run out of material - just like the original Battlestar series did - brats and all.

From what I have seen the modern version is very "Babylon 5" in feel? Not that is a bad thing I liked Babylon very much.

Re: Battlestar to be rebooted.. Again..
I guess it's kind of like that, yeah. A more serious space-based SF series than certain other SF shows.
It's more "realistic" than B5 though, & certainly more so than the Treks.
The creator of the new BSG series terms it " naturalistic science fiction".
I love B5, but IMO the new BSG series is better, and is one of my all-time favourite TV shows.

are you letting nostalgia cloud your judgement a little?

Re: Battlestar to be rebooted.. Again..
Nostalgia? I'm talking about the new (2004) BSG. Not the cheesy old 70s one.
Superbly written, acted, & directed drama series... which happens to be set in space.
