TV is stuck on Paramount Comedy, Cant change Channel view Tv Guide etc

Hi al

I wonder if anyone can help. My TV service has been stuck on paramount comedy 2 since yesterday afternoon. I can't get the box to respond to any other command either via the box or the remote. So I can't pause the TV, view the TV Guide, change the channel or view TV Drive. The only things I can do are turn the box on and off and reset the box, which I have done a number of times.

I have called Virgin and they asked me to remove the card, turn the box off for 15 minutes and restart but this hasn't solved the problem. The earliest they can get an engineer out is Wednesday so I was wondering if anyone may have any ideas about how I could fix the problem myself.

I am a former NTL Telewest Customer so the card is telewest and the box is a telewest TV Drive HDTV silver box. Please let me know if you need any further information

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi

I seem to have solved the problem, I switched the scart cable from the bottom socket to the top and reset the box. I can only assume that it must have come unplugged and somebody plugged it back into the wrong socket....

I thought I would post this in case it helps someone experiencing similar problems.

Thanks

Yeah, basically you dont get any on screen graphics e.g the guide or mini-guide etc through the vcr scart output on the V+ box so even tho you are successfully entering the guide, you wont see it on screen.

It doesnt help that the vcr and tv scart outputs on the V+ are the opposite way round to some regular vigrin STBs.
