Xbox 360

Ok, my set up has worked fine for years - 360 with wireless adaptor connected to Belkin router. The router had a cabled connection to my PC. I didnt change any settings to make this happen, the 360 detected the connection and off I went.

Heres the problem - I have had to move the PC, so have invested in a wireless adaptor for it. Now, the 360 is unable to connect to the PC or Xbox Live.

When I test the connection in the network settings on the 360 I get :
Network Adapter ------ USB Wireless
Wireless Network ----- Connected
IP Address ------------- Confirmed
DNS ------------ Failed

Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Xbox 360

Thanks Frog. There is a lot of info on that site. Im not really sure where to start.

Most guides seem to recommend at least one cabled connection. Is the fact that both my PC and Xbox are wireless going to cause me a problem ?

Re: Xbox 360

No Tappo, it won't. I often run my 360 wireless and both my PCs are wireless.

Did you get the DNS problem resolved (no pun intended)? I seem to remember Xbox Live went cranky a couple of nights ago. Maybe it was just a temporary glitch? Other than that you could try setting your router to use a different DNS server to see if its a problem with the server it is currently using.
