New PC question

I have had VM BB and my PC for about 5 years now. I remeber taking about 3 days and lots of telephone calls to install the actual BB after the tech had been.

If I buy a new PC how difficult is it to get the BB running on it and to sort out my outlook emails?

I know nothing about PCs!

Thanks for any advice regarding getting the BB to work on a new PC!

Re: New PC question

It should be fairly easy.

The BB is already set up and working, it should just be a case of powering everything down, connecting the new computer to the modem, and powering it all back up again.

The only thing that could complicate it is if you're using USB at the moment, but that's not a problem really - just switch to using Ethernet when you get the new PC and you won't even need to install the drivers for it

Re: New PC question

Here's a website I came across a while back whilst I was looking for how to backup the full version of outlook. I haven't used it myself but here you go:

Backup:
http://free-backup.info/how-to-backu...k-express.html
Restore:
http://free-backup.info/how-to-resto...644932eefc6059

You might want to get someone to help you if you know very little about PC's

Re: New PC question

As others have said, it should be straight forward.

1. Turn everything off.

2. Plug ethernet elad from virgin modem to your PC.

3. Switch on modem. Wait about 30 seconds or for lights to be ready.

4. Switch on computer.

5. It should work straight away.

- If this is a new PC, do remember as soon as possible to install some anti-virus software and firewall. Don't leave your new PC open to the world of viruses.

For outlook, you can see how to set it up here:
http://www.virgin.net/helpme/email/outlook6/1.html

Depending on if you are ex-NTL or telewest or Virgin, your settings may be slightly different.
If you can't remember your password, call tech support and they can give it out to you.
