Slow Router
Now I've got my wireless router set up, I've been wondering something....
I have my new laptop configured to use the router wirelessly. This speed tests at pretty much what I know my connection can actually do (which is about 6mb, even though the connection is supposed to be 20mb, but that's another thread).
However, my "main" PC, which is connected to the router via an ethernet cable (not wireless in other words) can only get 1mb.
If I unplug the router and connect the PC direct to the cable modem it gives about 5mb as normal.
What gives? I understand the connection is shared between my three machines, but I can only use one of them at a time! Surely something's wrong here?
The router is a Netgear one for cable connections, I haven't got the model to hand but it's a Rangemax, not the basic one but a higher model, with four outgoing ethernet ports.
