Extra BB Point

Hi,

I'm currently looking at the most effective ways of putting my new ps3 online. wireless is the obvious route to take, but its unreliable, so I am wondering, are virgin able to install another BB access point in my bedroom that will allow me to run an Ethernet cable from it to the ps3, therefore enableing me to go on it via a wired connection, if they do how much would it cost.

No, they won't do that. They will only put one modem on your account. After that you have to use either a wired or a wireless router to distribute the broadband round your house.

A wired router will cost you approx Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£30 and then ethernet cable eg. 35 metres will cost approx Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£15

With the router you can then connect all your equipment at the same time and be on the net or share files too.

... and you're no worse off doing it that way, if VM did put another access point into your house, they'd be running cable around to do it. Doing it yourself with ethernet cable means you route the wires where you want them, in your own time.
