Question Map Webspace to a Drive?

Hi,

Could anybody suggest how I can map access to my web space to a drive please?

I can do it in Vista, map a drive choose online storage and follow the wizard, input login and password and all works ok.

Following the same instruction under XP and it will not work, goes all the way through then will not recognize my details.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

IMO these are gimmicks. gimmicks which don't work very well. there was something which incorporated your gmail email account, not sure whether this is still in active development?

Could try this:

http://www.engadget.com/2005/10/25/h...ur-ftp-server/
http://windowsitpro.com/article/arti...s-a-drive.html

There are a few more results on google if you search for: map ftp server as drive.

Re: Map Webspace to a Drive?

Should have been a bit more clear.
I refer to my ntlworld.com webspace.

Any ideas on how I can map that to a drive, or at least get a shorcut in My Computer to it.

Thanks all.

Re: Map Webspace to a Drive?

I'm fairly certain ntlworld.com webspace doesn't have the required software to offer Webdisk.

Re: Map Webspace to a Drive?

It works just fine in Vista, I have a shortcut in 'My Computer' that opens up my ntlWorld web space and I can just drag and drop files no porblem.

When I got through the same setup in XP it won't allow the same address I used in Vista.

no it doesn't support anything like that. it supports virtually nothing and that is something

Re: Map Webspace to a Drive?

Homepage.ntlworld.com supports FTP - that is, after all, how you get stuff there! Both pieces of software identified in post #2 (along with many others) will support this.
