Three mobile internet - dual SIM adapter
Well I bit the bullet and bought a 3 Sim in the hope that it would work well with laptop and my K800i on their £10 a month 1GB offer.
Well the good news is it does. I've managed to save myself £99 on their modem as it works great.
Only problems is that as I'm using my Virgin SIM for calls and texts it means if I want to use my laptop while away (or check something online with opera mini) I'll have to swap SIMS. I think that'll get a bit boring.
I bought a dual adapter but it's one of the ones where you have to cut them to size. Reading online some say that this sim adapter won't work with 3 SIMS and that by cutting them you can damage them as the chip is bigger than normal.
I can't seem to find one online that states it works with 3 SIMS. Anyone seen any or know of any that work. I'd rather not cut them if possible.

Re: Three mobile internet - dual SIM adapter
Sorry, I know on my N95 when i'm in a HSPDA area I get nearly 3 gig download. I'm assuming the USB dongle will do about the same.

I have the N95 8 gig with voda, supposedly unlimited data but the guy in the shop said more like 3 gig IIRC, I might have to check that. I don';t wanna bill using it as a modem when I'm working away. Just looking for the cheapest way of doing it, maybe also, something that might sustain a bit of online gaming, am I asking too much

Re: Three mobile internet - dual SIM adapter
I get variable results Bop. The signal here at home isn't brilliant but I get good enough to surf pages - wouldn't want it as my main connection but it's o.k.
Haven't had chance to try it at work yet but will tommorow - signal should be better there.
For now I get:
Edit - saying that after reading about those last two look o.k. speed wise. I think the odd issue I'm getting with droped pages is a dropout in signal due to it being poor here.

Re: Three mobile internet - dual SIM adapter
Connection was much better today - got the full 370 consistently all afternoon while downloading files at work with no drop outs.
Suppose I could spend the £100 for the modem but 370 does me for what I want while out and about. Web pages are snappy and that's the important thing for me.
As for the Sim adapter I've ordered one from EBay - will just have to chance it I guess.

Re: Three mobile internet - dual SIM adapter
I'm sure i read somewhere that sim adaptors are not suitable for use with 3G sim cards.
Be carefull...

Re: Three mobile internet - dual SIM adapter
Damn your upstream is bad !
I was thinking of trying 3 as I have a sim but please dont dual sim. It's very flakey uses a hell of a lot of your battery for some reason as reported on the forums.
Heres my upstream on orange.
