I've tried several things including increasing the bandwith on the router, disabling the firewall and enabling port forwarding but nothing seems to work. I even gave the 360 a static IP address from the router and configured it for one. I'm not sure what else to try. I might try and update the firmware though the update doesn't look like it would do much honestly. Either way any ideas or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

first of all do you have a working pc that goes through the 3com?
its not very often we see US users asking for help here so we dont know how TW work their cable, for us UK VM users its simply a case of generic TCP/IP as in the cable modem asks for an IP from the VM DHCP servers on its WAN side , no passwords or messing about , is the Time Warner cable the same type of thing, whats the exact sequence the CM goes through?
the 'Whenever I test the connection
it gets to the MTU stage and then fails' doesnt sound like a generic type of connection, what exactly do you mean when you test the connection?.
if theres an MTU problem, that implys the 360 is trying to use some non standard setting on the LAN side so nothing to do with the WAN side connected to the cable wire.
did you try changing the 360 to a generic MTU of 1500, as id assume thats what the 3com is set for in its firmware (my old 3com 11g AP is at least).
