Two copies of every @ntlworld.com email in inbox

Hi and sorry if as a novice I'm ploughing over old ground but can anyone tell me how I can stop getting two copies of every email I'm sent in my Windows Mail inbox? 95%of my email comes into my main name@ntlworld address, with the rest being diverts to name@ntlworld.com from a couple of other addresses I use for specific purposes. I'm using Windows Mail on a PC running Vista. It sends and receives my email with no problem other than that I always receive two copies of every emaiol sent to me in my inbox. I guess I've set something up wrongly or I've checked (or haven't checked) something but I can't work out what it is. Any advice much appreciated and apologies again if I'm asking something that's already been dealt with in this forum many times before....

You'll have a problem email. Login through webmail off the virgin website and delete the offending mail.

I suspect it's the last one myself. You've got 2 accounts setup using the same pop3 entry.

This is what microsoft has to say on the matter:

There used to be a freeware program to remove such things, but it looks like everyone is now using 'remove duplicate emails' in conjunction with microsoft products these days. If you don't mind using a software solution for a small fee, then this looks like it will remove duplicates from Outlook Express: http://www.download3k.com/Internet/E...k-Express.html

Thanks to both handyman and goblin - two accounts found with same pop3 entry, one deleted, problem solved. Still don't quite understand the issues but happy not to have my inbox burstingat the seams.
