the horrors of the booze

[SIZE="3"]i watched the telly last night it was about ed mitchell a high flier for broadcasting who fell from grace because of alcahol.this is a tragic story a young man with everything going for him who finished up losing his wife.2kids,his home, and his job.carol barnes done the programme and she was shocked at his decline.he finished sleeping rough on brighton park benches, one thing i noticed was that his personal hygene seemed to be not bad.i have a friend in the same predicament and unfortunatley[his hygene has totally gone to pot and wont listen to rhyme or reason from his friends.ed mitchell is now in rehab and on last count is off booze for 3 weeks and i hope he makes it all the way when i see young men/women binge drinking it makes me very angry to see them destroying their lives./SIZE]

Re: the horrors of the booze

I know all to well the horrors that go with alcoholism, a family member has just about lost his life through drink. The only thing I can really say is that unless you're loaded, there's no real help for those in that situation.

What I do object to though is this modern day 'binge drinking culture', it's as if it's a newly invented thing. Just because they've now called it by a new name they portray it as a new thing when it clearly ain't.

Another thing that gets to me is people that doesn't know anything, thinking that they do.

On Ed Michell, I did see a news snippet about him, he seems to be fully aware of his problems which is a good thing, hopefully things will pick up for him.
