v+/ DVDR with USB

I am looking at getting a DVD recorder that has a USB port. My question is will I be able to archive directly to a external drive that will be connected to the USB port. Or are the USB ports on DVDr just for playing movies and pictures. Has anyone got one of these and tried it already?

Re: v+/ DVDR with USB

Unfortunatley not, the V+ only allows backups from the Scart output socket. The USB is a redundant port on the box, It may be activated in future though.

Hope this helps

Re: v+/ DVDR with USB

Usually the DVDR's USB port is only useful for playing back movies or pictures from a flash drive or a USB HDD. NB. only FAT formatting works and HDD's have got to be powered from the USB port.
