V+ and DVD archiving

I know it's been asked many times before but I haven't been able to get it sorted.

I've just purchased a Sumvision Dolphin DVD Recorder and been trying to set it up to archive programs from my V+ box.
The V+ box is connected to my TV via HDMI. I have a scart lead from the V+ box to the DVD Recorder, and then another scart lead leading from the DVD recorder to the scart socket on the back of the TV just so I can switch back and forth.
I appreciate the scart lead to the V+ box won't work unless I select copy to DVD which i have done.
When I switch back to the DVD Recorder while it should be showing, it just states that the 'video signal is unstable', says no signal and won't record.
The input source should be set correctly to scart (according to the recorder's manual it just says to switch to the source for one press recording).

I'm fairly stumped although just about to see if it'll work while the V+ box is hooked up to the scart but obviously I'd prefer to run through HDMI if I could.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Jen

Re: V+ and DVD archiving

Are you sure it is recording from the right SCART? SCART sockets can be two way so it may be trying to record from the TV SCART rather than the V+ SCART
