TV/DVD combo - intercepting the sound for karaoke?

Hi

This is my first post so please be gentle as I am not sure if I am asking in the right forum.

I am trying to work out how to give my daughter a tv/dvd combo on which she can also play karaoke dvds.

There are plenty of karaoke convertors that plug between a dvd and a tv to allow you to attach mikes and they then presumably 'mix' the sound e.g.Maplin Converter

I can't see though with a tv/dvd combi or a portable DVD whether this would be possible.

Any advice?

Christine
