Help setting up wirless card

Hi.
Ok this is a tricky one. My step mother has an old work laptop running XP, it looks as if it set-up to work via a network from what I can see. My dad has picked up a Belkin wirless network card for it. The card works ok, its picking up & connecting to thier BT homehub ok, but IE isnt connecting to the net.

Can anyone shed some light on what I need to do to to get Internet access?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Help setting up wirless card

One thing to check is what level of encryption is set on the hub, this should be in the wireless sections of the router screen, then make sure the settings on the laptop wireless device matches it. If all else fails look to see if you can turn off encrytion on the hub to check that the wireless on the laptop can actually connect to the internet etc without encryption.
Also check in the IE settings for anything that might be interfering like proxy settings, manually set DNS server addresses and also check for firewalling on the PC.

Locked down to the company network?
Some "work" laptops won't connect directly to the net for secuirty reasons.
