Problem sending mail from nyl account

Hi,

I recently upgraded from the ntlworld 10MB service to the new 20MB service, recently I have had problems sending mail. The frustrating thing is sometimes it works fine and other times I get the following error message

Cannot send message using the server smtp.ntlworld.com
Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server. All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings.

There doesn't seem to be any pattern as to when it does or doesn't work and I'll not be ringing up virgin media helpline where I have to pay to tell them the service I pay for isn't working, if the person I'm talking to can even understand what the problem is and not just tell me to turn the modem off for 3 minutes and turn it back on...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, R

Re: Problem sending mail from nyl account

Some days the VM (NTL) mail servers get a little screwy. If your passwords and other settings are fine, just try again a few minutes later. If it's something that persists, and you see other issues with your broadband too then you should be calling faults.

With email and the like it's always worth checking the service status pages to see if there are known network problems for your area.
