I don't really watch anything else on Discovery at the moment but have the V+ set to record "How It's made" and every recording is the same. The odd few words here or there are missing. It is most annoying as it always happens at some crucial point. The narrator is telling you how much or how many or how long etc and the dropout occurs right across the actual figures being quoted.
If this was an old Soviet TV program then you would think the Kremlin was censoring it.
I've only seen this on the BBC HD channel. I reckon it's got something to do with extracting the centre channel from the 5.1 DD source and not correctly injecting it into the stereo output/SCART.
Services: V+ VIP & Vmobile - in for a penny.......and all that

Re: V+ Autio Dropouts on Discovery/How It's Made
I get the same thing with my regular daily recording of King Of Queens on Paramount.
Sadly the dropouts always occur during a punchline and you kinda lose the flow.
It did stop for a short while when we had the firmware update about 2 or 3 months ago but it has crept back again already
I guess it kinda begs the question are VM actually developig the V+ any further and going to tackle these and the interactive issues??
Brings me back to my earlier posts that they rushed this product to market just to compete with SkyPlus and they're asking me to pay top dollar for essentially beta testing their product. Conversely I will say that when it works properly I strongly feel that the V+ is far superior to the weakling SkyPlus.
Although you have to take the analogy of what's the point of a Lexus that keeps breaking down when you can have a reliable Fiat 126???
