Any news on 5.1 yet ?

I dont suppose now with the rebranding completed, VM are interested in carrying 5.1 Dolby Digital yet are they ?

Just wondering what the latest was on this.... (not that im holding out much hope)

I always wondered why the V+ Boxes said 5.1 on the front, but the sound was bad.

I would imagine that Virgin are interested, yes, and that's why their (admittedly meagre) HD offerings come with 5.1 sound tracks.

But presumably that's not good enough?

I didnt know to be honest, I havent kept up with the DTV scene. Do you think they would be rolling this out to other STB's then just the V+boxes. ?

a good start would be if we could get the Sky HD film channels. BBC HD is the only channel to have DD and not all the time.
Quite amuusingly though, Wimbledon on BBC HD broudcast in DD.
