Bloggers help capture wanted criminal

Not posted on this because I'm lazy, but an interesting case has been playing out on the net, with spillover into real life. A precis:

Rachel North (a pseudonym) survived the 7/7 attack on the Piccadilly Line, albeit with a degree of PTSD. She started a blog as part of her therapy, which has broadened out into part of the call for a public inquiry, and has led her to meet John Reid, etc. She also attracted the attention of a really nasty internet stalker called Felicity Jane Lowde, who started by offering advice, but rapidly turned to persistent and offensive harassment over a period of a year, both on her blog (http://fjlathome.blogspot.com/) and in comments around other people's. This took the form of projection, accusing Rachel of being the stalker and generally of being guilty of all the stuff FJL was doing. This is by no means the first time this has happened.

Eventually, Rachel went to the police with an absolute stack of evidence, Lowde was arrested, bailed, continued to harass, was arrested and banned from using the net, carried on, sacked her defence team, refused to turn up in court, was convicted and a warrant issued for her arrest on sight. She vanished from Oxford, where she lived, and has apparently been sleeping rough in London, continuing posting and harassing from internet cafes.

The response to this was a massive campaign to get her face known across the net and in net cafes, and she's now apparently been arrested in a cafe in Brick Lane, after being recognised (some public spirited types helped out with IP address tracking of the blizzard of comments she leaves everywhere). Rumours as yet unconfirmed are that she's been remanded in custody pending psychiatric reports.

Nah... Its like Spain. As you try and walk down the street all the employees jump on you like they have leukemia and you share the same type of bone marrow. You just give up and go somewhere else.

I've only been there once for curry and it wasn't much cop - Tandoori Nights on King Street, Hammersmith is my favourite London curry house, and has the added frisson of celebrity excitement - an episode of Only Fools And Horses was filmed there.
