Is Youtube slow for anyone else?
For a while Youtube has been INCREDIBLY slow for me. It takes about 30 minutes to fully buffer a typical 10 minute video. As you can imagine this makes for some unpleasant viewing.
Anyone else having the same problem?

Re: Is Youtube slow for anyone else?
Yeah, and the nuclear subs which I can see out of the window run on steam too
On the other hand I see that Youtube is designed for broadband users. What Virgin are providing us with couldn't really be described as "broad".

1st 512K took 5406 ms = 94.7 KB/sec, approx 780 Kbps, 0.76 Mbps
2nd 512K took 6281 ms = 81.5 KB/sec, approx 672 Kbps, 0.66 Mbps
3rd 512K took 4110 ms = 124.6 KB/sec, approx 1027 Kbps, 1 Mbps
4th 512K took 4343 ms = 117.9 KB/sec, approx 971 Kbps, 0.95 Mbps
Overall Average Speed = approx 863 Kbps, 0.84 Mbps
I hope "20" meg makes watching online videos a little more pleasant.

You really need to call them... but try a direct connection just, err, in case it's your router

Re: Is Youtube slow for anyone else?
Sometimes on Peak times (I dunno, perhaps they should mould and shape the traffic everywhere) can cause it to stutter ALOT. Even on my 10MB connection, buffering can be pretty obstructive. Best advice I can give to you is figure out when its fastest, and use it then.
Google should have enough idle bandwidth to keep it going tough, but as it happens, even google struggles (or whatever the youtube server hangs with now)
I would suggest a proxy, but even that wont work on practically busy times.
Enjoy the movies, always something to interest us all there!
