Question Remote web access

Hi, Can anyone help me please?

I use Virgin Broadband Cable. How can I access the internet when I'm out and about with my laptop?

Also, I would like to use outlook as my email editor. When asked for the account it metions POP3 or HTMP etc. What are these? What doI enter for incomming and outgoing email?

Many thanks for any help and advice you may be able to offer.

Re: Remote web access

If by "out and about with my laptop" you mean further than the boundaries of your house (and hence a workable WiFi signal) - then you will need either a datacard to connect via a sort of dial up service. This is slow and possibily expensive. If you can limit your need for the internet to sitting in McDonalds (etc) you could take out a subscription to (say) BT Openzone.

To set up email within Outlook, you will need the address of your POP (used to receive eMail) and SMTP (used to send eMail) servers. These will be something like pop.ntlworld.com - you will also need tour VM login name and password. Check your paper work for more info...

...enjoy your VM.

Hope that helps.
