And yes, this includes payouts to Gerry Adams and other IRA suspects, as Starmer prepares to repeal the Legacy Act which prevents suspects being barred from compensation. The think tank estimated Adams and the 400 other claimants could each receive £143,000 in compensation on top of a further 1,000 similar cases, making a total of £196 million.
