Virgin...In with the old..Is it Demand or just the same as UK Gold etc

Does Virgin think we are all morons....

There's loads of channels out there already giving us choice of old programs..like UK Gold...Bravo...UK Living...I could go on..

Yet they take away the up too date channel Sky One and con us into thinking there giving us something new...

Which ever on demand service you choose...Catch up etc..etc it's old programms.

Is Virgin daft or what...The other channels have been doing this for years...so why trreat it's customers like morons and con them into thinking there getting somethimg new...

119 channel is the same...this sort of thing has been around for years in the UK gold type channels...OK..so you can choose what and when you watch BUT !! it's just more of the same really.

So time Virgin woke up and gives it's customers what they want...or there customers will leave them in droves.

Joe

It does have many repeats but it also had new content as well. VOD just has repeats only. Even when Lost season 3 comes onto it it'll be repeats bar the few we didnt get to see with the loss of Sky one.

Personally losing skyone didnt bother me but the so called content that is replacing it has so far been poor. I've had episodes from series missing like Alias had episodes 2-5 erm wheres episode 1?

VOD isn't a channel (despite whatever Virgin Central is supposed to be), its designed to fill a need.

The need being most people miss their programs from time to time and want to catch up at a time that suits them, not the TV company. Also, people want more of a choice than 1 program per channel. Its no good that a channel might be showing the program in 3 days time, the user wants it now, or at least a time convenient to them.

indeed but not having all the episodes there doesnt fill a need. Also as stated in another post Wife was looking through TV choice and saw last weeks hotel babylon advertised. She missed it coz I was watching the football. Went to watch it and up came booze britain. They really should check that what they advertise is what is shown.

Re: Virgin...In with the old..Is it Demand or just the same as UK Gold etc

I know it's a matter of opinion but to me VOD is already far better than Sky 1 ever was. It's like having a shelf of dvds you can browse through whenever there is nothing on the TV. For instance, a couple of weeks ago I checked out the synopsis of a series called 'the closer' and knew straight away that I wouldn't like it but my wife would love it. She watched all the episodes within about three days while she was ironing etc. and thought it was great.
The only programme I ever wanted to watch on Sky 1 was the Hogfather. Thats one programme in over ten years. If you look at the viewing figures for Sky 1 it's obvious I'm not the only one of that opinion either.
BTW I'm not sure why you are concerned with whats on VM any more anyway Bikerjoe as I thought you had voted with your feet.

I love the VOD - it gives me the chance to watch all the old C4 comedy which I haven't seen since - mainly 'Absolutely' to name just one. Last time I saw that was from a badly recorded VHS converted to an mpg!

I thought you had already left Virgin and went to Sky, what's the problem?

If you've read the threads a lot of people are enjoying watching things on VoD. I've watched....

Supernatural x 1 series
Little Britain x 2 series
Trigger Happy TV x 1 series
Ali G - Half way through a series

I'm sure there's something else, i just can't think of it right now.

Why keep posting about Sky all the time? And like Andy said, how up to date was this channel. This sounds like another VM vs Sky thread which is getting slightly dull now.

Edit: Actually, you did say almost the same thing on another thread you started promoting Sky. Shouldn't you just have kept it in your other thread?

Hi

I agree with everything that's been said.

Why

Because we have the right too choose what we want. Never accept something being took away without first being asked.

That's all it's about for me..my choice removed without first asking me. I bet you all shout out when something you dont like happens...That's all I have done.

I speak my mind and fight for what I want...Virgin took away this right and I as one member here said...

Voted with my feet and left virgin....I'm having all Virgin products removed...Phone and Broadband.

Choice...never let that be taken from you.

Bye all...I have taken my choice and I'm content..

Joe

Do you plan on cutting and pasting this into every thread on the forum.

By the way it's "being taken away", not "being took away".

I think it's a symptom of being a Sky fan and seeing so many repeats...
