EPG does not fill screen in HDMI mode
This doesn't really matter, and in fact looks quite tidy, but I wondered if it was supposed to this and if not, what is causing it?
When in HDMI mode my EPG on my V+ box does not go across the full width of the screen, it is only the size it would be on a "normal" telly.
If I switch the box to normal widescreen mode (non-HD) then it fills the screen as normal.
Is this intentional, and if so, why?

Re: EPG does not fill screen in HDMI mode
hi
its to do with the resolution the menus are generated by the box and fill the screen when view via scart when u go to hdmi u alter the resoultion to either 720 or 1080 for the picture but the menus stay the same so appear smaller hope that makes sense

Re: EPG does not fill screen in HDMI mode
Thanks...that explains it.
It actually looks much smarter the way it is as the resolution is better and not "stretched".

Re: EPG does not fill screen in HDMI mode
How strange.
To be more precise mine is connected via HDMI to DMi, but I don't think that makes any difference.
Perhaps it depends on the model of box?

Re: EPG does not fill screen in HDMI mode
Mine is using HDMI - DVI and most things are 4:3 safe (except widescreen and HD content).
I mean, the EPG is 4:3 (so doesn't fill the entire screen as it does normally). Interactive stuff is in the 4:3 area. "Press red" appears in the 4:3 area. "Home" (the menus) are all 4:3 with black bars down the side.
Changing to 720 wide is horrible. I hate stretched 4:3 pictures on channels which don't broadcast in 16:9. I guess we have to keep it as a smaller version, rather than full screen (unless you want to see most of the channels stretched, making the people look smaller and fatter :p)

Re: EPG does not fill screen in HDMI mode
Yes as Ste said, using 720 wide means that non-widescreen programmes look horrible.
Like I say it looks quite smart as it is, so I don't mind, I just wondered why it was different to using it in "standard" widescreen mode via the SCART.

Re: EPG does not fill screen in HDMI mode
When you use it via scart your TV uses it's own screen modes which will make it look differently to via HDMI where TV modes are by-passed
