V+ and DVD Recorder prob

Hi folks,

Got myself a DVD recorder yesterday and set it up this evening. Got the TV Tuner part of it the DVD recorder set-up fine, but I have a strange problem with regards to the link to the V+ box.

When I switch the DVD recorder to the scart source (i.e. input from the V+) I can hear the V+ sound but I am not getting a picture.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Cheers,
Daz

Are your scart leads pushed in properly if one is slightly out that can cause sound and no picture or vise a versa.

I did check that and they seemed to be ok. I'll have another look when I get home from work.

Aha, just been reading around a bit, and I might be getting an already discussed issue (i.e. you can't see the picture via the DVD Recoder of live TV on the lower scart socket of the V+ box when the V+ is set to HDMI mode.... you can only record using the "Copy to DVD recorder" option with something already recorded).

That's a shame.

Another Issue you may come across when trying to sort this out is (depending on what dvd recorder it is) the V+ box does not output RGB through the VCR out scart, if your DVD recorders scart input is set to RGB then you would only get a black screen but still hear the sound. make sure the settings are changed B4 you try to copy to VCR/DVD

I have mine set to RGB and it works fine as most DVD reorders can accept RGB through one of it's scart inputs. You can only see the picture when you have pressed the 'transfer to VCR/DVD' option has been selected, this activates the VCR scart on your V+. In other words you can't record live TV, just transfer recordings.
