Connection Issues

Afternoon,

I have 2MB ADSL connection with Tiscali and over the last few weeks the downstream rate has intermittently been reported at 350K - it should be near 2000k (2Mb).

So - I phone Tiscali and they say it could be something to do with my profile....they go away for 3
mins
and tweak something, I reboot the router and hey presto - it's back to 2Mb, but sometimes after a few days / weeks it goes back down to 300k.

So - what is the "profile" thing they keep tweaking? They also do the standard thing - line test and it always checks out
OK
. Tiscali have also
suggested
I contact BT -
which
I have done - they also complete a line test and it checks out fine with them...

So what's this profile thing and how can I stop this from happening?
