Imaging Vista...

One for Zing!

Anybody know what imaging programs work with Vista?

Can I image it using Symantec Ghost, or is it not compatible...

Symantec site says you need to use Symantec Ghost Solutions Suite - which is for corporate customers?

Re: Imaging Vista...

I can't see a reason why Ghost wouldn't work. To be honest I stick with Good old Ghost 8 as I don't like the Windows Interface of 9 up

Ghost 10 should work as Zeph says however ghost 8's dos enviroment is iffy with certain sata controllers which basically stops it working.

Re: Imaging Vista...

so try it it wont hurt. You will need the boot cd for ghost 10 as its restore is a live cd. This part will work no matter what os you have as its outside windows. Are you dual booting with xp or just running vista? if you are dual booting just back up vista from xp install if it dont work.
You could try a ghost 8 boot disc to see if pcdos works with your mobo

Re: Imaging Vista...

Norton Ghost 10 didnt work for me - Vista upgrade adviser complained it wouldn't be compatible.

Doesn't Vista come with built in imaging software now?

Acronis True Image 10 supports Windows Vista but I have never used it so can't comment on how good it is.
