Homechoice owner looks to quit UK
Monday, December 18 2006, 10:27 GMT

By James Welsh, International Editor

Tiscali, the internet service provider and owner of IPTV provider Homechoice, has put its UK operations up for sale.

According to The Independent, Tiscali sent out a memorandum of sale last week to potential buyers including BT, Sky, Orange and NTL Telewest. It is reported that the company is looking to obtain around £600m for the UK operations - which turned a profit in the third quarter of the year - as part of a plan to re-focus on its business in Italy.

As long as Sky dont get it. Another pre built company which they can buy and then crapanise 'oh I mean make oh so fantastic for the Sky fanboys', and then claim that they have an 'amazing' service offering BB/Phone/TV even though they have never spent anything on R&D for anything except the Television side most Sky Sports.

Re: Will NTL buy Homechoice I wonder?

"Sky has made much of the fact that NTL and Telewest's cable networks cover just 55pc of the population. To counter this, Virgin Media, which has spent £5m trying to improve the cable groups' poor customer service, will spend tens of millions of pounds to increase coverage.

It will strike a wholesale deal with a telecoms supplier and install its own equipment in some BT exchanges, using phone lines to pipe television pictures to customers' homes.
Some customers may be offered ultra-high-speed broadband at 50 megabytes per second."

Homechoice anyone??

Just a thought
