Can someone calm me down?
Hi everyone, thank god I found this site. I was just about to jump out of my flat window with my ntl digital box and broadband under each arm!!!!
This is going to be a very very short version of events (otherwise you wud be here all day)
1) Had broadband at previous address, everything fine
2) Moved a couple of times then decided to have broadband again.
3) Found out not only that I was being billed £17.99 a month for broadband but other random amounts totalling £100.00 by Direct Debit to my bank account.
4) Complained and they "kindly" (sarcasm intended!!) credited £100.00 to my ntl broadband account!! It was from another account that had been set up?!?!
5) Rightly or wrongly I decided to get ntl tv!!! Biggest mistake of my life!!!
6) I was told that it would cost me £3.00 on top of what I was paying .... so £17.99 plus £3.00... equals: £20.99 (unless my brain and calculator has broken) Agreed??
7) Just to bare in mind I have never ever after 2 letters sent, received a apology.
8) I received a bill for £43.94 for my tv on a seperate account to my broadband
9) I wrote to NTL copied Otelo and they say I have to give NTL 10 days to respond!!! ROLL ON 10 DAYS!!!
10) I received a letter chasing payment today so I phoned them
I was first put to billing who said I had to go to sales.... the sales guy was a joke and I asked to speak to his manager, no managers there apparently (I get that everytime) .... so I said may I speak to the supervisor, he doesnt know who that is... so I said Can I speak to someone in authority... HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!
If I find out who he is I will hunt him down!!! He needs the sack ... apart from
other things I'd like to do!!!!!!!!!
So I phoned back in tears (WHoooops) but I was so stressed out and I thought do I need the internet this badly (apart from uni work) for this much stress... i'd rather go with Sky?!?!
I tried for over 20 mins to get through to cancelations and couldnt...what does that tell you?? No one there maybe?
Does anyone have any kind words of advice?
Thanks muchly!!
Samantha

Re: Can someone calm me down?
Hi to you all.... Ahhhhh thank you!!
I usually always get names but on this occasion I didn't - and I know that was really stupid. If I phone back I think they may have it on my notes...
I hate getting all stressy at people as it doesn't solve problems!!

Re: Can someone calm me down?
do you know what package you are on?
it should be the select pack and from what you've said sounds like they havent put the 2 for 20 discount on.
the first bill is going to be more than £20 because of the pro rate but not 40 odd. id give CS a call again ask them to check it is on the 2 for 20 and if not to add it and backdate it.

Take deep breaths.....
Breath in.....
And out....
And in.....
And out....
...let the stress and anger flow out of you. Cos anger leads to fear, and fear leads to the Dark Side.

Here's an effective relaxation technique:
Picture yourself near a stream.
Birds are softly chirping in the crisp cool mountain air.
Nothing can bother you here. No one knows this secret place.
You are in total seclusion from that place called "the world."
The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.
The water is clear.
You can easily make out the face of the person whose head you're holding under the water..
 Welcome to the site, lilfem!

Yeah, it's best used as a visualization technique only!

Re: Can someone calm me down?
I try and think of the person at the other end of the phone as me..Human and with flaws and just as likely to get flustered by someone who is all stressed themselves.People who are left to flounder because they have had inadequate training, their supervisor is a dragon to them if they bring her/him any problems and who are doing a tedious, boring, stressful job because they want to be helpful and need to earn a living.
You wouldn't want to be unkind to yourself now would you?

Re: Can someone calm me down?
ha ha !! you lot are mad...
Sorry not sure what package I am on... I had broadband for a while then decided to add TV and the man on the phone said it would be £3 more... But you say about them not adding a code, someone on the phone yesterday mentioned something about that.
I know what you mean about treating them as I would like to be treated... and I try my best to be civil for as long as I can, as getting angry never sorts a problem. When someone is imcompetent in their job it just makes it all a bit difficult... It was only that one guy I spoke to... the next one was very kind and supportive, although didn't do anything apart from forward me to another dept!
Nevermind... I am annoyed I even phoned yesterday... although if I hadn't I wouldn't have found this wonderful site!! At the end of the day, all we want is the service we pay for, is that too much to ask?
