NTL MiniGuide & Movies 24
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - but I've not seen anything about it.
Recently (despite rebooting the STB), my MiniGuide only shows "Searching for programmes" on Movies 24 (Channel 424).
Is anyone else having the same problem?

All my Guide data (normal Guide & Mini-Guide) vanished on ALL channels yesterday at 13:00 , and stayed this way until we all went to bed (haven;t turned on the telly yet today, so dunno).
When an engineer came round yesterday about STB freezing, i mentioned it to him and he said, that they were expecting a Update download in the next few days, which should fix this. What update is this? Is it just update to the EPG/Guide?
I'm in the Cambridge region.

If he was indeed talking about the new software, I sure hope we don't have to wait til 14 February for it, otherwise (if what the Techie said was correct) we might not have a properly working guide until then.
Is there anyone (maybe a staff member or something) from ntl:telewest/Virgin Media Langley who can shed some light on this.
Also:
The introduction of a 24hours EPG won't affect me much as we've NEVER been able to see program information more than 12 hours in advance on our ntl:tv service since getting it in October. Although it is a shame that Freeview (with limited capacity) can provide up to 8 day EPG data, while Virgin Media cannot. It too a bot of getting used to not being able to look up schedules days in advance after switching from Freeview to NTL.

They have started the roll out in Coventry and (if I remember correctly) Cambridge has never been too far behind Coventry with past updates.
I believe the intention is to get the software onto as many STBs as possible before V-Day (14th February) although they have said that they may not complete all areas until June.

Unfortunately, the limit is with the amount of memory in the STB. The STB design is over 7 years old and it cannot handle that much data. Conversely, the new V+ boxes have an 8-day EPG. (I wonder if the new V-box will have the 8-day EPG).

Ok, thanks. So you think Cambridge may get it before "V-Day". I didn't expect we'd get it as late as June, as the TV Drive (V+HD) box was launched here in December, which isn't that late. Did Coventry just find out about the UK2 roll-out from the new virgin guide, they received in the post? Or was there some other confirmation.

Well...if the New V-Box's do support an 8-day EPG, i doubt they'd become the norm anytime soon. I mean the Samsung one's have been out for a while now, but yet they are still fitting the old Pace boxes with new installs, or even STB replacements.
