good or bad idea
I have just accepted a position at tsc for ntl/telewest in liverpool. Anybody on here tell me what its like, have I made an oops or is it ok. I seem to be reading conflicting things about working for them.

I can only comment about the ex ntl side (having been made redundant in November, 1 month before xmas). The people I worked with were fantastic, we gelled as a very stong team & always looked out for each other when the smelly stuff hit the fan!
However..as an employer ntl were poor to say the least! The staff are treated like dirt, constant worries about job security, long hours, very poor communication, too many chiefs & not enough indians!
The only bright side was the staff discount on services, when mine stops in Feb I'm dumping the TV, downgrading the broadband & keeping the telephone.
The best way I can sum up working for NTL is that we were mushrooms..kept in the dark & fed a load of..

Pretty much like many employers, then, only you got good staff discounts as an extra. A lot just treat their staff, as you say, like mushrooms..........

reminds me of my BT days when i worked here.horrible employer couldnt wait to get out of there but in the end they sacked me for being of sick for 11 months with depression.
ahhh good times lol.

You'll find it's the same with any large company, the bigger they get the poorer the employee relations get.
