See link here:

That's the JANET "LAN" that education centres get, that's our link, and recently i'm told that's not even shaped (Faulty hardware...)

My college gets JANET also, speeds are really speed, at max you get no faster then 8Mbps - so bad for an LAN, the upload is fine though

Re: For all those on about bad ratios with VM...

it would seem theres something wrong there though for a JANET upload connection,
seems your JANET is the UK's werst ratio if its not a fault .....

still, their not a consumer broadband provider, so it still looks like VM are going to be (or already are) the holders of 'the UK's werst ratio' consumer broadband providers award (unless a reader knows different?).

your JANET connection:
Download Speed: 40219 kbps (5027.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 134 kbps (16.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

my (ex-C&W south manchester) 10mbit VM connection:
Download Speed: 8580 kbps (1072.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 439 kbps (54.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
