Bt to Tiscali major problems

Guys , im posting this as a favour to my father in law. He used to be on Bt broadband , then moved house . Turns out he cannot access his broadband service because of a stupid log in problem. He got nowhere with bt , so he migrated to tiscali . He has exactly the same problem here. Tiscali are bouncing it back to bt saying its their problem , and bt dont seem to be doing anything. He is still paying for a broadband service, and is taking them to court. When he has spoken to both companies help section , they have said to him to try and login with an engineer password . Bang , he gets in . But cant surf because of the engineer restriction , which is fine . He tries his own log in , and nothing . The line works , its just a log in problem . Now the obvious thing is to change the log in or create a new account ??? its not that easy. Because he is with tiscali , he cannot go to bt , thats tiscalis problem . He has been dealing with this for 4/5 months , and nothing is happening . Has anyone had to deal with anything like this ???

Re: Bt to Tiscali major problems

Ask Tiscali for a MAC code, if they don't jump into action then, get his MAC code and bugger off to a decent ISP.

But say he goes to someone like AOL for example , then wont he have the same problem ?? He had the fault with bt , and then went to tiscali because he thought bt couldnt fix it . Tiscali have got the same fault . Its strange because he couldnt log in with either bt or tiscali . The problem is no one seems to doing anything about it . the line is ok , it must be a fault at the server ???

Point taken.

Try the forums over at adslguide and find an appropriate section, and ask there. There are some good techies over there. My point still stands regarding Tiscali though, they are not very good.
