Re: Compaq Presario M2357EA - Laptop AMD Turionâ„¢ ML-30

Hello, firstly, to CF.

Secondly, my opinion of the laptop... it depends what you're intending to use it for. If you're hoping to use it to play games, then I think you'll be disappointed, because although the CPU and the amount of RAM are decent enough (in terms of laptops) the inbuilt graphics card is sucky-sucky.

If, however, you're not intending on doing any gaming with it, and are thinking of using it for normal everyday usage, e.g. bit of Office, bit of browsing t'internet, bit of emailing, etc... then it looks a fair enough price.

Re: Compaq Presario M2357EA - Laptop AMD Turionâ„¢ ML-30

One thing to be aware of is that AMD traditionally don't make very good laptop processors. They get very hot, and eat a lot of battery. You might want to look at an Intel-based model instead... I don't know about the prices, but Pentium Ms are very good, and the Core Duos are fantastic.

(Though having said all that, I'd always go for an AMD in a desktop machine...)

Am afraid its a bit late for that. Bought the laptop 2 weeks ago. It does get pretty hot at the bottom left hand side.next to the cursor pads.
I realy should be calling HP regarding this.
The Core Duos are gettin cheaper...do u reckon thats because they have to sell off XP laptops due to the imminent arrival of Vista?

Re: Compaq Presario M2357EA - Laptop AMD Turionâ„¢ ML-30

No prices of everything is coming down. The core duo's are superseded by the core 2 duo that ive seen in the odd laptop here and there so prices will drop. All laptops get hot underneath not blisteringly hot but hot its the nature of the beast lol
I cant find a core duo within £100+ of the price you paid anyway
