Re: mIRC + ZoneAlarm Suite

Which version of ZA suite do you have ?

You can download a manual here which will tell you how to configure ZA.

A quick look at the manual, gives you this information, on page 70 (using the 6.5 version) you will need to know which ports mIRC uses, to allow it access. Although, from your post, it looks like port 6667. Do a google, or look in mIRC's help file, for help in selecting the correct ports.

Re: mIRC + ZoneAlarm Suite

6.1 is the version.

I have gone into Zonealarm and is it UDP? I allowed UDP Incoming and Outgoing on port 6667 but thats not working.

I really DONT know what i am doing, reading the manual is NOT helping me, its just Confusing me more.

Re: mIRC + ZoneAlarm Suite

If I was you, I'd stick to ZA standard. It's a simple yes or no for access then, rules based firewalls can be complicated for a newbie.

It's an option in IMSecure advanced settings I think, something like "Block mIRC" has to be unticked.

I think you are right, the 'block IRC' option is certainly there in the advanced settings of 'IM Security' & is 'on' by default

Re: mIRC + ZoneAlarm Suite

Are you sure the irc server you're connecting to is actually up and running, and that the address is correct
