Adobe Acrobat prints automatically...

If i download a pdf file it automatically opens Adobe, except instead of showing me the file, it just prints it, and the only way to see it is to go to File> click on recent document....

I can't seem to find any settings at all about this or in the help guide, why is it doing that? I just want it to open the file then print it if i tell it to, have i broke it

Thanks x

Re: Adobe Acrobat prints automatically...

In your My Documents folder, go to Tools > Folder Options > File Types

Choose the pdf entry & select Advanced.

Check that the Option is Open, if not delete the action & add Open.

Check the default action for file types.

Go to my computer/tools/folder options/file types then scroll down to PDF and highlight it and then select advanced. And see what the default action is, it may be set to print, if so, highlight open with acrobat. Then click, set default, and ok your wat out. See if that works.

EDIT: bugger ! Cobby just beat me to it, lol.

Re: Adobe Acrobat prints automatically...

Hmmm.... Sounds like Reader may be corrupt?

Can you still see Acrobat Reader in Add/Remove Programs? If so remove it, redownload & install it. That should automatically fix the file associations....
