Going from NTL to Sky, but keeping broadband?
Sorry, feel free to move this but wasn't sure where to put it. Currently on the 2mb package with phone+STB with sky sports added. Am looking into moving to Sky, mainly due to the interactive football features, but would like to keep the broadband and phone as it is now. Would this be possible, and how do I go about doing it? Call NTL and get them to change the STB for a cable modem? Cheers. Simon.

Call them and tell them that, they may even leave you with the STB for BB only. You can certainly have Tel/BB as a package option, it is TV/BB and no Tel that is the impossible package.

Re: Going from NTL to Sky, but keeping broadband?
Ive recently done a similar change. Went from a BB/TV/Phone package to a BB only package.
During the call i was given various other options one of which was to keep the BB/Phone with the phone costing £9.99 a month.
As said there is no option for BB/TV only.

Don't you need another phone line i.e. BT for your Sky box?

you can connect your sky box to your NTL phone line - it doesnt have to be a BT line. and a phone line connection is only contractually compulsory during the first 12 months.

True, my Sky box has only ever been connected to an ntl phone line, but hasn't been connected to any phone line for the past couple of years.

Re: Going from NTL to Sky, but keeping broadband?
There should be no problems doing it at all.
When we first got sky, it was before we got NTL.
The only problem we encountered, was that our broadband didn't like the idea of going into the same socket as sky. No matter where we put the microfilter.
We eventually sorted it by just pulling out the sky line. it was fine even though we'd only had it for just over a month. Although it did mean we couldn't use the interactive services.
