Will an SACD work in a standard CD player or do you have to buy special kit?

Also what about the CD in a PC

No it won't work on a standard cd player. If you put an sacd in a standard cd player it will only read the cd layer.

Trying to play war of the worlds ?

My pc can't play sacd's properly either.

It plays sacd in my dvd player (a sony one).....

Yah, to play SACD disks you need a standalone SACD player, no optical device for the PC can read anything but the cd layer apparently.
