Re: mini dv to pc
If you know the model number of the camera you should be able to download the manual from http://www.panasonic.co.uk/customer-...oad-centre.asp
Mini-dv is usually used for video, as is firewire - is it a camcorder or stills camera?
What OS is on the PC?

Re: mini dv to pc
Do you have a firewire connector (or card) in the PC? The connectors like those in this picture:
If you do. and don't mind your video files being Windows Media files, you can use Windows Movie Maker, which takes you through the whole process pretty much from start to finish.

Re: mini dv to pc
You should have a connector that looks like this:
It will me either on the back or side of the camcorder. Possibly under a flap. You can buy cables to go from this to the larger connector in most electrical shops, or any shop that does cameras. They should be around £10 to £15. Possibly less.
The connector may be called "Firewire","IEEE 1394", "Mini DV", "DV IN/OUT" or "iLink". All the names are interchangable.

Those are the very extortionate dirty high street prices...
if you're willing to buy from the internet, then get this... i use the exact same one with my Sony Digital Camcorder...
if ur buying it on its own then its £6.05 with the cheapest possible delivery but if ur buying lots of other thinsg then its a great thing to add for only £1.59.. .
if you do buy on the high street or any where else... make sure that its 4pin - 6pin...

Or http://www.dabs.com/uk/Search2/Produ...hrase=firewire cable from dabs..
Of course, the advantage with the high street is that if you buy it tommorrow, you can take it home tommorrow.
