New video card?

well, i'm looking for a new videocard possibly so i might be able to play Battlefield 2, i was looking at either the ATI Radeon 9600 series or 9800 series, everywhere i look, all i can ever find is the "all-in-one-wonder" package stuff, is there any place that anyone knows where i can get just the video card? i don't need that whole fancy package, just the video card, help much appreciated ^.^

Cracking deal really...

I've got a 9600pro in this machine, overclocked and im getting a constant 50 or so FPS in BF2... However, I believe RAM is the main thing this game likes to crunch, so make sure you've got at least above a gig tbh, My brother's running it on 512 but has some hefty HDD accesses sometimes mid game, and the loading leaves alot to be desired. Considering jumping up to at least a gig and half myself.

Re: New video card?

Oh, and out of those 2, I'd go for the 9800 Pro if you can. 9600 isn't up to much to be honest.

Re: New video card?

Quite a few 9800 Pro cards to choose from here:
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...Thumbnails=yes

The one at £84 inc VAT looks good, although be prepared to have to play at medium quality on BF2.

Don't buy any card with "SE" after it's name, it's usually the slowest card of that particular range.
