Graphics card cooling

Anyone with any experience here,I have a asus x800 xt pe card and It appears to be getting a tad warm,Under normal use it runs at 48-52 degrees, when gaming 65 degrees at least topping out about 70
The asus overdrive isn't showing any warning at this temp but obviously im concerned
How hard is replacing a gfx cooling system? Any ideas what to use? And whats the chances of busting it

I can't find any def info on if its to hot anywhere, theres differing opinions accross the net

What was the name/website of that program you measure the temperature GPUs? Everest or something?

Re: Graphics card cooling

Only the newer generation of cards have the temperature diodes on though.

Re: Graphics card cooling

Yeah, doesn't look like mine does. it is an Asus Radeon 9600SE.

On the upside, it tells me the temp of my HDs which I never knew before. 37c.

Real nice proggy...

That's far too hot, now the weathers warmed up, my XT PE sits at 35 under normal load and 45 under heavy (after a couple of hours). If I were you I'd get hold of the Zalman cooler (the arctic cooling ones are complete gash and the fan starts getting noisy very quickly)

I use one myself now, exceptionally easy to fit and you can just whack the fan cable into a controller, not that you really need to as it's fairly quiet at it's fastest speed anyway.

Re: Graphics card cooling

Ive had a look at the card and it appears theres just 3 screws 2 holding the heat sink one near the fan holding it in place,Am i right in thinking the zalman will use 2 screws and just fit ontop of the gpu unlike the original which blows back over the heatsink

Yeah it'll just use the 2 holes nearest the GPU, it also comes with ramsinks for the ... ram, trust me, it'll fit.
