I have a spare Bt Wireless router 1800 that I can use at home if its possible to set up.
Is it possible to somehow connect the BT wireless router to my telewest cable
or do I need to buy a special type of wireless router to be compatible
Any advice on the cheapest way for me to set this up would be grateful.

I am no expert here but at least my reply will get this thread back to the top.
As far as I can tell the BT kit you refer to is a HUB.
And a quote from
here says that The 1800HG Wireless Home Hub is only suitable for use with BT Broadband.
So guessing it only works with BT Broadband.
The white cable trailing across your floor to your modem is probably coax cable.
Dont worry someone with more knowledge will be along shortly.
