Exclamation CFT-2100, help please.

I have the CFT-2100 box. My new hdd-dvd recorder says I can use the provided plug-in IR device to change channels if I tell it the 4 digit code. Anyone have any idea what the code is for the 2100 , Please!

Re: CFT-2100, help please.

It's a secret.

As is the make & model of your HDD recorder

Perhaps if you told us more, like what make & model recorder you are using, or what remote it i we might be able to say more.

P.S. to the forum.

Re: CFT-2100, help please.

Is the box a digital or analogue box?

(I believe the Jerrold analogue and Samsung Digital boxes have this model number).

If it is the Samsung Digital, then Tivo can control it with the Pace codes. Your DVD recorder may be able to do the same.

Exclamation Re: CFT-2100, help please.

Don't see why the CFT-2100 code would be secret! Why!
Its analogue General Instrument CFT-2100.
The recorder is the new Toshiba RD-XS34. I've tried the few codes they suggest trying in the Toshiba manual, but no luck. I thought NTL customer services or technical dept might have been able to tell me but the question seemed to confuse them. Any ideas how to find out much appreciated!

I would be surprised if they could help. The code would be specific to Toshiba equipment, so NTL would not know the code. Have you tried Toshiba?

Re: CFT-2100, help please.

Ahem, it was sarcasm, aimed at asking the original poster for a bit more info on what his recorder was.

I have tried the Toshiba support site but it seems to be down.
Try the AV forums for more AV geeks, there are a few threads about that DVDR there.

I knew that. I was trying to explain to him why NTL didn't appear to know the codes..

The jerrold boxes are the old analogue ones, I believe?

If you obtained an ntl cable tv set-top box from ebay, then it *still* belongs to ntl. All ntl STBs remain ntl's property.

If you would like cable TV, then I suggest you phone ntl & subscribe - you'll get a nice new STB as part of the package

Re: CFT-2100, help please.

You could always ring up NTL and ask them to replace it with a new box. Oh no, wait...
