Very bad freezing after 2MB upgrade?

Hi All

Over the past week my TV picture has started freezing and blanking out very badly and is mostly unwatchable on all channels (so some channels at some times are just about OK). Around 50% of the reboots I do lead to the box hanging and not restarting.

It might be a coincidence but the problem started round about the same time as I upgraded my broadband from 750 to 2MB.

I have an engineer coming round on Tuesday (hopefully!) but wondered if anyone else experienced the same and whether I should ask the engineer to swap my PACE stb for a samsung?

Thanks.

Re: Very bad freezing after 2MB upgrade?

2mb on a PACE that should result in the box bursting into tears and then refusing to work.

Are you sure they have not just upgraded you to 1mb? Press page up, then page down, then blue. You should be seeing "stb-mid.cm" on the network status pages.

If you are on 2mb you definately need a Samsung... if you are not then you don't need a samsung but do need to have an engineer out

EDIT: and i forgot to say...

I (think) I am definitely on 2MB. That's probably why I can't get any TV - but I have had no problems at all with broadband. I'll do the test you say.....Thanks....!

The old pace convertors can't handle 2MB hence there replacment to the Samsung,so this is one for the record.

She shouldn't have.... she will get crap performance from the box... or alternatively it might just stop working completely.

1 processor + TV + 2meg BB = BAD!

Re: Very bad freezing after 2MB upgrade?

Actually I don't think a Pace box will pick up a 2Meg config file at all... if you're paying for 2Meg, and it's coming via a Pace box, then you're only actually getting 1Meg speeds, and NTL should be coming to give you a Samsung.

Errr - No one has actually verified if the 2mb is actually coming THROUGH the pace, or a SACM next to it, have they?
